Preventive Maintenance

Robot loading a CNC grinder

NEMT provides planned annual preventive maintenance for ProGrind machines, grinding cells, and related automation. The service is intended to help keep equipment in stable operating condition through inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and documented follow-up.

A typical annual preventive-maintenance visit is structured across two business days. Day 1 is an on-production assessment performed while the machine is operating in normal production. Day 2 is an offline preventive-maintenance session performed with the machine or cell scheduled out of production.

During the on-production assessment, NEMT reviews normal cycles, recent alarms, quality concerns, recurring issues, visible machine condition, and daily or weekly cleaning and lubrication practices with your team.

Inspection, Adjustment, and Lubrication

The offline session can include mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, lubrication, guarding, and safety inspections. NEMT may check axes and ballscrews for lost motion; spindles and workheads for abnormal noise, vibration, or temperature; and bellows, way covers, guards, wiring, and hoses for wear or damage.

Coverage for Integrated Systems

The base scope covers core grinder elements, including axes, ballscrews, spindle or workhead assemblies, bellows, way covers, guards, wiring, hoses, lubrication points, and safety devices.

When applicable, the scope can also include robot or cobot cells, load and unload automation, gantries, conveyors, shuttles, pallets, feeders, vision, gauging, inspection systems, and custom installation-specific features.

Each visit includes a written maintenance report documenting checks performed, measured observations, parts replaced, and recommended follow-up work. Major repairs, emergency breakdown response, extensive cleaning, programming changes, and corrective work outside the planned visit window are scoped separately.
